Report of shooting at Lil Wayne's house a hoax

A report of a shooting at the Miami Beach home of rapper Lil Wayne was declared a hoax by police on Wednesday after a search found no evidence of victims or shots fired.
Earlier in the day Miami Beach police said they received a call on a non-emergency line from a person stating he had shot four people at the home and needed assistance.

"We can say for sure it was a hoax," police spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez said after a SWAT team searched the home in an exclusive island neighbourhood. "We were unable to locate any victims or subjects."
Miami Beach police tweeted "unfortunately this appears to be a "swatting" call", referring to a trend of police receiving false emergency calls, sometimes targeting celebrities.
Wayne's record company, Young Money, said on Twitter he was not at home at the time and he later tweeted that the incident was a "prank kall."
The hoax call trend is known as "swatting" because SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) officers often are sent to the purported crime scenes. Authorities say such situations can be dangerous due to the risk of a misunderstanding between police and occupants of a building.
Swatting calls have previously sent police to the homes of actor Ashton Kutcher and singers Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.

Police, some wearing bullet-proof vests, surrounded Wayne's nine-bedroom home, which is valued at $9.2m, and TV images showed a SWAT truck arriving on the scene.
Local media, citing representatives for the rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, was not in the home at the time of the reported incident.
In 2008 Wayne won Grammy Awards for best rap album, best rap song, best rap solo performance and was part of the award-winning best rap group performance.
He has had run-ins with the law on weapons and drug charges and went to prison in New York in a gun case.

Earlier this week, The Juice confirmed that the DJ has been suspended, pending investigation into his conduct.

Parents say they fear they are raising a serial killer - photos of the boy

A couple who adopted their seven-year-old son from a meth-addict are convinced his obsession with knives and blood means he may kill someone soon.
Kim and her ex-husband, Ryan, adopted Rylan when he was a baby- his mother was addicted to drugs and both his biological parents had bipolar disorder. But the pair are now both terrified his aggressive behavior means he will harm someone and appeared on the Dr Phil show to beg for help.

Kim, who has three other children, thought the process had been smooth until she began to realize Rylan was not developing normally, reports the Huffington Post.

Kim claims that at 18-months-old, Rylan would hold his breath until he passed out.
When he turned three, he stabbed knives inside a watermelon and became more and more violent.

She says her son has an imaginary robot friend called Bleeder - and he says the character tells him to kill his entire family with knives.

Kim said: 'He talks about how he is going to lift them [knives] up over his head and plunge them into our chest.'
She added: 'When Rylan was six he locked himself in the bathroom, he found his older brother's razor and he cut off the tips of his fingers because he wanted to see them bleed.
'In Rylan's head, Bleeder was the one who told him to cut his fingers so he could see the blood and feel the pain.

The pair say they are both now terrified of their son who they both take turns caring for.
'He talks about stabbing us, about how he's going to lift them up over his head and plunge them into our chests so he that he gets the best impact,' said Kim.
'My biggest fear is that we're raising a school shooter, a mass murderer, a serial killer.'
They have put him in seven different hospitals for treatment, but to no avail.

Photos: Neighbours stand and watch as man beats his wife almost to death for cheating

Just saw a gruesome video online that broke my heart. Men... and even women stood and watched as this man stripped his wife to her underwear and brutally beat her with a plank. The people who posted the video online said he beat her to death, but that isn't shown in the video. The last seconds of the video shows the man dragging the very weak woman away. They said the man attacked his wife after catching her with another man. I screen-grabbed from the video. Continue to see more photos..

President Jonathan Signs Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Bill into Law

In spite of protests from some countries, groups and activists President Goodluck Jonathan has signed into law the Bill which outlaws same sex marriage.
The assent to the bill was devoid of fanfare to reduce diplomatic tension, which it may likely attract.
Some foreign embassies were shocked by the development leading to ‘curious’ inquiries from the Federal Government. Despite the inquiries, the Federal Government said there was no going back.
The signed bill says the gays, lesbians in Nigeria will risk a 14-year jail term if they do not retrace their steps and renounce such marriage.
Also, any person who operates or participates in gay clubs, societies and organizations directly or indirectly will earn 10-year imprisonment. Those who administer witness, abet or aid the solemnisation of a same sex marriage are going to bag 10-year jail term.

The Senate previously passed the bill in November 2011. Lawmakers in Nigeria's house of representatives affirmed the decision by the Senate on May 29, 2013.
The President assented to the Act last week, on January 7, 2014, but the details on this action have just leaked the web.
“I certify that this Bill has been carefully compared by me with the decision reached by the National Assembly and found by me to be true and correct decision of the Houses and is in accordance with the provisions of the Acts Authentication Act Cap. A2, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. I assent,” The assent note read.
“The President has signed the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Bill into law. This has foreclosed any pressure on President Jonathan not to assent to the bill.
“We received inquiries from some foreign embassies on why the bill was signed into law. But we told them that our cultural values do not tolerate same sex marriage.
“Also, we made it clear that since most Nigerians were opposed to the bill, the parliament acted in line with the wish of the majority. We are in a democratic setting, the President has no choice than to bow to the wish of the people.
“These embassies were shocked but there is no going back. We hope they will also abide by the decision of Nigerians,” a source close the President revealed.
According to some abstracts, obtained by The Nation, the Act reads:
“A marriage contract or civil union entered into between persons of same sex: (a) is prohibited in Nigeria; and (b) shall not be recognized as entitled to the benefits of a valid marriage.
The Act also stipulates the volume of the sanctions awaiting the violators of the new law.
“A person who enters into a same sex marriage contract or civil union commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a term of 14 years imprisonment.
“A person who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies and organizations directly or indirectly makes public show of dame sex amorous relationship in Nigeria commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a term of 10 years imprisonment.
“A person or group of persons who administers, witnesses, abets or aids the solemnization of a same sex marriage or civil union of supports the registration, operation and sustenance of gay clubs, societies, organizations, processions or meetings in Nigeria commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a term of 10 years imprisonment.
“The High Court of a State or of the Federal Capital Territory shall have jurisdiction to entertain matters raiding from the breach of the provisions of this Act.”
